when i have company over and we just wanna do some quick fun gaming in the living room, the wii is the way to go. perfect when you're gathering everybody up just before you go out on the town. nice lil social gaming, perfect for parties too, ANYONE can play it.

however, for serious gaming....i think we all agree except for kingkarter that you need to go with the big boys

I'm not a serious gamer. Plus when you play the wii you have too actually do some thing other then sit on your butt and press acouple buttons

same with the ps3 and xbox now? it also can be argue that most serious gaming you'd do on the wii you'd switch to the traditional controller anyways....or they have you sit down and hold the wii remote in a traditional format.

I don't get why people think this is a good arguement for the Wii... part of the the fun of videogaming is the fact that you can do virtually anything without ever having to leave your seat. Personally, having to stand up for hours at a time to play a videogame is not at all appealing to me (and I'm not even out of shape like many "hardcore" gamers, so I can only imagine what they think about it...).

what's funny though is if you take out the wii sports, wii exercise, dance games and the gadget games, all the rest of the games ARE played sitting down though. Anything from that list that you're doing serious gaming, you're using traditional style control
