honestly, if you dont know which to pick.

Pick what your friends have so you can borrow there games and play online with them.

if your cheap, pick ps3 onlines free
if your rich, pick ps3 so you can use it with your sony laptop, and all your other sony ****

if your an average person, xbox 360. You pay for online but its good...you can also stream content from your PC and stuff.

You can also stream to a ps3. A ps3 also has blu-ray. Both have their great points and games. I would go with what your friends have, so you can play online with them and borrow games.

Whenever i have spare time i jump on the xbox, have a cigar and a coffee and play games like bad company 2 multyplayer, Fallout new vegas, mw2, moh, Left 4 dead 2,etc. Ive played the ps3 and personaly prefer the 360. Thinking of getting call of duty black ops this week. If anyone plays any of the games i mentiond and wants to join in online sometime my gamertag is Darren082.
