While i have played with a ps3 and love metal gear on it (only reason i will buy one)
Online play for the ps3 compared to the 360 sucks , i know its free but i rather pay for online features and get quality content than it be free and crappy .

both systems have there pros and cons.

I agree at the moment XBOX 360 has better games....atm. Since it is harder to make PS3 games alot of the great Playstation titles have not even surfaced. For example GOW 3, Final Fantasy 13, Kingdom Hearts 3, Hitman 5, Syphon Filter, and Tekken 6. A blu ray disk has alot more space on it for development, but since alot of developers are not used to the PS3's cell processor we have been getting alot of half-ass games. The PS3 has not even hit it's peak, whereas the 360's has already passed. XBOX has to come up with another system just to compete. 360's are for people that are stuck in the past . I love this debate .

Looks like the only problems you have with ps3's is the money. The bluray games are not that expensive(ebay). HDTV's are neccesary for both xbox and ps3. or get a 30" hd pc monitor. You will save more money with the ps3 b/c u have to pay for internet for the xbox. Bet if you had alot more money you would of had one.

I played both the PS3 and blue ray movies on a 36" standard def tv. Is it much nicer on a 50" HDTV, oh yeah, is it needed nope. Had a PS3 on the little guy for years. One thing I'd like to point out is some PS2 games look worse on a 50" plasma the final battle with Zeus on GOW 2 looked better on the 36" because the skimmped on his wire frame design.

As far as game play both the 360 and the PS3 are basically the same the Wii offers the best game play particularly for FPS, neither 360 or PS3 can match it. The graphics are worse but not as much as you'd expect.

Enlighten me on why the 360's online play is so much better? I always here this from 360 users, but never get any concrete reasons why.

dl content for games,much less server issues with the games,multimedia content available online . even the look and feel of the 360's online experience seems more polished than the ps3.

I prefer the PS3 but have to give the 360 (or Microsoft as this has nothing to do with the 360 hardware) this one.

Yep , hardware wise i go with the ps3 , man i got to get one just to play 1 game.

PS3 has plenty of dl content now. server issues are more of a connection issue, and not the system. I rarely have server issues. Multimedia content is great imo, you can rent movies in 1080p right on your system. The look and feel of the PS3 store looks great to me. And honestly all that extra stuff is great, but what I really care about is the actual online gameplay. There's no point in paying more for a "polished look", when you can get the same features(maybe not as developed, but getting there) for free.

To me when it comes to online features u get what u pay for , and compared to the 360 the ps3 just isnt up tp par . not saying any system is better but that's my experience and last time i checked the 360 was outselling the ps3.
