Pseudoplatystoma corruscans

Here's a couple pics of my P. Corruscans- common name- spotted shovelnose catfish. They are seldom seen in aquaria. I have two and the one in the pics is about 16" and starting show more and more spots as he gets bigger. Sorry for the crappy pics, my camera sucks.

Yes, it looks very much like a TSN, but TSN's have tiger stripes, hence the name. This fish when it gets bigger will have only spots. Here is a pic of a big one from the internet.

this is the first time i am seeing some one actually having a corruscans, till now i just saw pics of it on the internet.

was it sold as a corruscans or as a pseudoplatystoma fasciatum ???

Yes, they are pretty uncommon. Put it this way, I have been collecting for over 25 years and this was the first time I have seen them come up for sale or even see one. I got them as P. Corruscans from Jeff rapps. I was skeptical at first because when they are very small they look very similar to the regular TSN but the patterns are more blotchy than stripes. Now at 16" he has alot of spots and will soon be covered. I'll update as they get bigger.
