how long have you had it?

I had a 9 incher for around 1 year and saw almost no growth... fed daily in a 180 gallon.... I would suspect it to be a different species. Either way, superb specimen

I got him approx a year ago from john(eczs) at 25-26"...he is a monster pig man...when feeding the bass he takes in approx 12-15 4-5" shiners then proceeds to smack all the other fishes floating foods...I have kept juvis approx 4-6" and they seemed to never grow at all. Have you seen the irwinii I just picked up? if I can I will get a pic of the two together..the granulosus makes him look tiny...LOL
heres the 22" irwinii.......

All of your cats are sweet and the pics are great. You seem to have the same taste in them as me (juruense, irwinii, niger, bagarius...) I'm hoping to pick up some small irwinii tomorrow. My lfs has been trying to order them for me for a while, but it's been too hot around here for the supplier to ship any healthy fish.

thanks man...will have a surprise rare big boy in a few weeks that I know you'll like:D

That irwinii is amazing. I really wished I could have gotten my hands on one. Unfortunatly it was a huge deal just to get the granulosus... THankfully all these rare fish are everywhere now.

How about getting a tape measure shot with these fish. Some of those cichla look to be longer than it.... and a 20+ inch cichla.... is a damn awesome sight to see.

Nice... looking foreword to it. Hopefully I'll have some mini irwinii's that I can post for you to see soon.
