wow thats catfish is a monster nice color on them. how long did u had him/her for? the spots fade when they get older right

Not that long not even a year yet. It's about 16-17 inches long now. I've seen adult size that are now completely dark. I think the patterns fades away as it grows.

I agree, the big ones that I saw were completely black and looked more like big balls than fish
