Ptychochromis sp. "Northern Red Fin"

I have seen oligicanthus and nosibeensis next to eachother and the nosibeensis seemed to have a more purple body and more gold scales compared to oligicanthus. I'm no expert though, Just a hobbyiest.

My Ptychochromis "Northern Red Fin" just spawned at about 2". I was surprised that they spawned so small. They are lousy parents. The female wanders from the spawning site to eat or just to look around. I removed the eggs (since they were on the heater). The fry are very small. Many eggs fungused, however I would gues that about 50 fry survived. It may be a slow process, but I will carefully raise these fry.
