Public Apology to cichluvr

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dan, I have no interest in speaking to you on the phone or via email or private message.
The thing is that this IS a public forum, I am here to discuss the hobby in all regards. I'm a heavily contributing member of MFK (one of the most currently active in fact) and maybe .001% of my posts mention anything about you.
Sorry if some of my opinions and questions bother you, and if the mods have a problem with them, then mods please contact me and edit whatever you feel necessary and I will remedy the situation in the future.
In regards to discussing anything having to do with you or your business on the forum in the future, I think I have said all I care to say for the time being. Anyone reading the threads will read the many posts from the many members here with different views and form their own conclusions.
On a final note, I'd like to publicly thank the mods that have to deal with this stuff on a daily basis and act purely as unpaid volunteers. They take time out from their personal lives with work, family, and their own hobby to deal with the forum in what is mostly a thankless endeavor.

the mods want to do it they dont have a gun to there head

Dan, I have nothing but respect for the way you've handled yourself in your replies. The way you've remained professional in your responses despite being singled out, berated and throughout their attempts at tarnishing your reputation. I can't begin to understand why a certain group of individuals who have targeted you with the lynch mob mentality ... and can't seem to let up. It's truly disheartening that this forum has had this influx of "hobbyist" who have a sense of arrogance about them, the "see how much I know" attitude from reading a few articles online between doing water changes in their 60 gallons tanks in the comforts of their apartment. I've been a customer and a friend of yours and COA and will continue to do so. I look forward to our next dealings Dan.... always a privilege.

Since you quoted me with that response I can only conclude you're talking directly towards me. I will only say I've never even owned a 60 gallon tank or lived in an apartment, and I maintain hundreds of gallons of tanks and have experience working in the industry on both the retail and wholesale level handling hundreds of species and tens of thousands of fish (and no longer do in any regard).
I am not an expert compared to some MFKers, but certainly not a neophyte as you implied either. Have a nice day, and if you have any further questions or concerns on my qualifications, feel free to "contact me via PM, email or phone."

If the shoe fits "buddy". You've had a hard-on for Dan in more post than I care to count, taking shots at him every opportunity you can. He's extended several opportunties to you to resolve this grudge of yours weeks ago to discuss the matter as adults but you continue to hide behind your computer screen, pecking away at your keyboard. I can care less about your "qualifications" nor do I feel the need to communicate any of questions or concerns to you. I, my friend (and I use that term very loosely) have better things to do. BUT you're right.... having only been a member since June 2010 and with 8,167 posts..... I'll know EXACTLY where to find you.

House, if any of us have a "hard on" for Dan, as you so cleverly put it, I think that it's clearly you.

What I have said is nothing compared to what many say on a weekly basis about a multitude of vendors, but I don't see you getting upset about that. Public forums are for discussion and opinion, if you don't like mine there's an ignore button. I'd hit it for you but I never see you post anything interesting anyway...
And yes, you will find me on MFK, continuing to contribute.

And, if I wanted to spend time listening to someone try to persuade me that they're actually a great guy, I'll turn on my TV and tune in to some political debates.
I'm sure your friend would appreciate you dropping this as I'm willing to at this point.

While I appreciate the bump, any grudge matches are not going to be hashed out here in a thread with good intentions. It wont happen.

I'd like to publicly apology to Dan (cichluvr) as I got his online business mixed up with another person's online business (who happens to also be named Dan) and my post about ignoring and avoiding Vendor PMs was not directed towards cichluvr's business.

This is a very adult act it takes a lot of guts to be in that situation and make a public apology like this. I applaud you for this and can see why you have been chosen as a mod. It is probably a lot more daunting task than most people realize and your humility shines through. If only there were more acts like this on this forum. It seems there is more hostility than humility on this site every day and that is really too bad. There is such a huge amount of knowledge that is held by the members of this site and I know a lot of new comers are driven away by some of the rude comments on this site. And please don't take me wrong I am not aiming this at anyone one this thread or the other for that matter, just the site as a whole.

Aclockworkorange you are one of the elite when it comes to cichlids and I have no idea why you dont like dan but that is nobodys business. You are entitled to your opinions as they are YOUR opinions. I personally have nothing but respect for dan as he has given me no reason to give him any less.this may not be the case for you. I hope it can be resolved but not everything in life is perfect is it.

It can be hard helping the less experienced but mfk can be such a priceless tool that we owe it to the hobby to keep it as positive as possible so that knowledge can be passed. I know I have learned a lot here as I'm sure everyone else
has aswell. No one knows everything that's for sure. Sorry for the derail just felt I needed to get that off my chest.
