Effort to save Rocky the fish moves forward
T-shirts will soon be available

The fate of local fish has not been decided yet, but the man who owns Rocky the snakehead fish is having T-shirts printed for his cause. The Department of Environmental Conservation says Rocky is a danger to local waters and they want to kill the fish. Chris Deverso says Rocky has been a pet for 10 years- and he says Rocky was legal when he bought him. Now, Deverso says he is ordering "Save Rocky" shirts. The money raised will benefit animal rescue efforts.
Pre-orders are being taken now for the T-shirts, which will be available at the end of the week. They cost between $10 and $12. To order them, contact Chris Deverso at cdeverso@yahoo.com or by calling 952-2424.

Chris Did you know of the ban when it went through? How long til you found out they were banned after the Law passed?
Did you attempt when you found out to get a grandfather clause?
Personally i think that he should be Grandfathered. Though i have to ask the hard questions to get a better opinion and form my support or lack there of from your answers. I am only one.. But we know one can make a difference... Sometimes one signature is the Icing on the cake or the final support before everything is lost.

as of 2002 i knew was banned to import/export or breed ,i did not know they were illegal to posses (2004)untill the dec showed up at my door(2008) on new yrs eve,and yes i have checked into the grandfather clause the dec tells me there isnt one simple because the fish was to dangerous,and that they do not differentiate between the 29 different snakehead species ..i do understand your concern about your opinion i have been asked that before and understand that if i knowinly was breaking the law for the past 5 yrs you would think differntly of the situation but that is not the case ,think about it if i did know i would not have let the dec in my house that nite...
