I wouldn't put it passed some of these people to have done this to your quote. I have a feel that these reporters don't realize that this story is as important as it is when it comes to the integrity of the law behind the situation. Their probably thinking, "Crap how the hell did I end up have to drive 1.5 -2 hours just to 'interview' a fish." Reporters are not usually the geniuses of the world (I lived with one for two years who proved my point daily), and probably find this story stupid rather than a case that could cause laws to be rewritten, or at least amended. If one of the few intelligent ones gets a hold of this 'story'/case, then all of a sudden there stories will now long focus of a 'monster,' but what that 'monster' means for all of us- for every person who has own something that we care about and valued.
