Ill try to reply to all comments.

First, many of the species I am looking for arent in captivity and therefore are not available as captive breds. I would like to breed them myself and make them available.

I understand there could be money and paperwork involved. Im just trying to figure out how to goabout it. How does one go about getting import/export permits.

Some of the Puerto Rican species Im interested in include:

A. evermanni - Puerto Rican Emerald Anole
A. poncensis - Ponce Small Fanned Anole
A. occultus - Puerto Rican Twig Anole
A. gundlachi - Yellow Chinned Anole
A. krugi - Olive Bush Anole
A. pulchellus - Puerto Rican Bush Anole
A. cuvieri - Puerto Rican Giant Anole

I live in Florida and have easy access to many species of anoles. Im looking fo anoles not or rarely available in the U.S. as previously stated. A. cristatellus is not among them.

You need to contact fish and wildlife, if you live in Fl you fooled me it states VA Beach on your deal. Now it will be near impossible as they wont let you import them due to them already being introduced to Fl, eventhough they are not the species you mentioned it will be near impossible to import them now.

In order to make it happen you have to talk to someone in Puerto Rico to see if there are any restrictions about removing native wildlife. Then you need to get the paperwork from puerto rico if granted and have it with you for your journey back, then f&W will check it out and either let it slide or confiscate. So CYA and talk to both sides.

When i was working at the LFS we sold reptiles, birds, amphibians and small animals also. I was assisting a customer with info on anoles and this obnoxious customer jumped right in about her 'anals'. She repeatedly praised her 'anals'. She just absolutely lovers 'anals' and kept saying her 'anals' are the best she ever had.
the customer and i just looked at her funny and i said told her it was 'anole', not 'anal'

SHHHHHHHHHHH.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont post about what you want to do... just do it. I will be honest, and (shame on me) but I collect for personal/private reason, self gradifaction, not for expoliting or commerical use. Mostly if not all of the exotic rare stuff that zoos have, come from confiscations, not because they got some permit or the ok from the country to export/collect the specimen, but because someone tried crossing in a "pet" that is either illegal or protected. I dont want to argue with anyone bout the ethics, but I do have some animals in my collection, that I'm pretty sure the zoo would love to have...., of course they cant, because Mexico doesnt allow the exportation of there fauna.
