I have to through my 2 cents in this one..lol. Yeah Wal-Mart puffers (if its GSP or the figure 8's) are doomed if they are there for awhile. But The few times that I have seen the ones at one of my Local Wal-Marts have been looking pretty good. They might have just got them that day though. I bought my 1st freshwater toadfish from one of the older Wal-Marts about 19 yrs ago. He was in great health too. Wal-Mart can get some really awesome oddballs when they want. I have seen fishes at some of the Wal-Marts around here that most LFS never had before yrs ago. Btw, never could get any Wal-Mart plecos to live very long though. I guess you really have to buy nice plump fish in tanks that has no fish deaths in and no really skinny fishes, mainly puffers. I tryed to fatten up really skinny puffers with no hope and end up losin them.

I have been into 4 lfs as of late and they all have gsp for sale and all but one say they are freshwater.... When I explain that they are like salmon born freshwater, migrate to brackish and end up in saltwater they explain that I must be thinking of a different puffer not these...

when I asked so "you sell them as freshwater, in a community tank so that they can kill the fish in the tank and then die..... is this a resale scam? :headbang2 they did not want to talk to me about them anymore and explained that I should look at another kind of fish for my community tank  I do not have a community tank....
