I agree with everything that Fat Homer said, but I will add that I've kept palembangs with dats, bichirs, catfish, etc. without problems, as long as the fish is to large to make a meal of. This is one of the few puffers that can be kept with large tankmates, in my opinion. They are nocturnal and definitely require a hiding spot for the daytime. I fed frozen silversides, krill, prawn, live crayfish, and live cichlids.
