Ok, i went to a friends house tonight and we decided to feed his Oscar a green spotted puffer, the ones you can get from petland, and the little bastard survived. He's no longer than an inch and was in a tank with 3 Pacu, an 11" Oscar and a silver dollar for about 5 minutes, we saw the Oscar take interest in him, finally he yanked him up and spit him out. We decided the Puffer deserved to live so we took him out and put him back in his tank.

About an hour or two later we came to realize the Oscar had died. He was in perfect health before so we think that puffer poisined him. Could this be?

Can someone explain this for me?

now you guy's know a puff is better then a "O".

no puffer fan all i know they really have sharpe beaks. i have 7 oscar's myself.

Wow really? I had no idea they were poisonous, they seem peaceful but i guess that's because they're pack'n heat :p

As for the OP, we dont feel sorry for the owner, we feel sorry for the fish. It is his/her responsibility to research feeders before just throwing them in there. These are fish, not mammals.
