puffer!

im really wanting to get a large puffer and was wondering which i should get in my 180 gallon. he would be tankmates with my barracuda, florida gar, needle-nose gar, african pike, and payara. my setup is an amazonian biotype with large driftwood and densely planted. i have two puffers in mind which are the mbu and fahaka but give me more info if you think a better puffer will suit my tank. thanks guys

Fahaka are too aggro, the mbu would work but would get too large for your tank in a couple years. Im surprised your tiger pike hasnt killed any tankmates yet!

no my pike and barracuda made buddies they follow each other throughout the tank and even hunt together

Thats surprising!! my african pike was a real terror..killed a jardini and barracuda...as for the puffer, fahakas will most likely kill everything...mbu is better choice but will need an upgrade (a large one) eventually...GL with your fish

The Mbu will definitely get too big. Fahaka might tear up the other tankmates. Bit of a catch 22.

I have a 6 inch Fahaka now and he will not tolerate anything in his tank and i think that is the norm, but if you look around i have seen pictures of them with lots of differnt tankmates.... I have never had a MBU but i know they get very big.
