Puffers and corals

Softies are at risk...but if you get a smaller puffer its going to mostly just be trimming.

Give it a try. Expect some causalities, and learn as you go. I would expect very little damage to sps corals.

but what about the other fish. the corals will be damaged but what about the tang and the hawk fish? Secondly I heard that puffers can recognize their owners, would you guys say that this is true?

I would say that puffer's are capable of realizing that people mean food.

I have kept several fish that could distinguish between myself and other people as well...but I think that was more that they realized the sound of my footsteps meant food...and that other peoples meant...nothing?

yes puffers and many other fish can tell thier "owner" from others

if i want to clean a rock of mushrooms ill throw it in with my porc and it will be mushroom free in a few minutes

Seriously? Dang...wish I would have known that I would have bought a dogface for my 75g reef to do a little clean up.

I also heard that they can be hand fed. But with a beak like that would such an act be safe? I value my fingers!

I thought so. But just how intelligent are they. I have heard stories that they enjoy being petted and have all of personality(And energy) of a puppy is this true

Absolutely! Just like an aquatic puppy.
