Pulling out fish...

Never had a problem except with my plecos whose spines are a real PITA.

1) if you have decor (other than substrate) it needs to come out

2) helps a lot to lower the water to what ever height gives all the fish just a couple inches of margin (top to bottom)

3) extra larger nets make the job a lot easier

4) patience

I never used 2 nets (I'm too clumsy to handle 2 nets at once) or tried sectioning off the tank, although the latter would help too.

This is tough - even with a 75. Use two BIG nets - and actually , leave SOME (wood / rocks) in, let the fish get scared, and go in a hole - and simply cover any exits with the nets, and the fish will usually shoot out into the net. (Don't even need to lower the level for this.)
If your tank is deeper than a 75, then use a long handled butterfly net - the kind you can get for a dollar, with bamboo handles.
Another trick that usually works is; if they are aggressive feeders at the top - Feed them, and just do a quick swipe. Beat them at their own game.
