Pump for my Sump

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i took out the old plumbing the bottom of the tank is a piece of steel, hard to explain really never seen a tank like this before, i removed the old plumbing so i could add an oveflow, before the pvc just went up to the top and i guess that was there overflow to the problem was it had tons of holes drilled up the pvc (it used to run off an old hot tub or pool filter) so i converted to a diy wet/dry the one piece of pvc that only comes a little bit up the corner is just a drain, but i am thinking about cutting the pvc smaller then adding another overflow. (the 2 inch pvc is plumbed straight thru the bottom and sealed, it is 2 inches all the way to the wet dry)

According to the chart my 2 inch pvc can run up to 2350GPH is this correct??? my overflow is three feet tall, and the hole is in the bottom of the tank. So i should be able to get a pump that does 2000GPH and be safe correct?? do u think that for my wet/dry plus a fluval fx5 is good enough to filter 518 gallons of water

Here are some better pics the first shows my overflow, the second is the drain but it is the same size as the hole in the bottom of the overflow, except the one in the overflow is cut off right at the bottom of the tank
