Thanks guys!! That is a good deal. $17.34 for S&H and order has been placed.

Holy Cow! This thing is a beast!

Now I have to find a place to mount it and get enough piping and reducers to adapt it to my 1" plumbing. Gonna be fun. :)

Ha ha! You should see my Hammerhead pump! Guess you can see why it can't be mounted vertically!

Actually Chris at Reeflo told me it could be mounted in any position just as long as the rear was not blocked to the fan could still get air.

I'll definitely post pictures after it's installed.

Thanks again for the pointer to the great price pacu mom!

Hi Guys...
I'm curious as to how load your barracuda pump is. I bought a used one and it has a loud hummm. I have the tank in the basement and can hear it upstairs. I've insulated the ceiling and walls around my 'filter closet', but it didn't help much.

Can it be oiled? or is this normal?

Thanks!

These pumps are very quiet. What is it sitting on? Our pump is very quiet, however, my husband chose to put the pump in a large metal pan which is sitting on the wood floor. The result is a loud hummm, but it's absolutely not the pumps fault. It would be totally quiet if we had placed insulation under the pump that was recommended in the installation directions.

Hmmm, interesting. I've got it sitting on about 1 inch of rubber pads on a concrete floor. Its very noisey, totally drowns out the splashing water in the sump and skimmer.
