What are some types of fish that i could keep with a pumpkinseed in a relatively small tank, (25g) and could i keep a black convict cichlid with a pumpkinseed?

Pumpkinseeds get pretty big for a 25g, they also can get a little aggressive. I'd maybe keep one with some smaller fish that it wont fit in its mouth. i have a 72 gal bowfront and i keep one with 2 dollar sunfish, 2 yellow perch, a black crappie and a sucker and they get along very well

I have never heard of dollar sunfish, I am an avid fisherman, so i would think i would have heard of them, can they be found in the Mississippi? Or is there some other sort of sunfish i can have in there?

I couldn't tell you, you might want to try a google search to look. Any of the smaller sunfish species might work, like Bantam sunfish, Black banded sunfish, orange spotted. You will never really know until you try something out.

i have caught some orange spotteds before, i'll research those for a while, thanks for the help.

25 gallons is too small for an adult pumpkinseed.

In a bigger tank they can be compatible with a whole range of fish. In my 75, I have 2 Pseeds, 2 Bluegill, a Green and 2 small bullheads. The bullheades will eventually outgrow the tank.

Also, Pseeds can be very different from one another. I used to have a 3rd Pseed, but he attacked everyone and had to be removed. The 2 I have now are pretty docile.

yeah, i don't think i'm going to get a pumpkinseed, probably some o-spots, and maybe some other small sunny, but do you think i could keep a small convict (about the same size as the o-spots with about 3 o-spots?

I think a convict maybe to aggressive for an o-spot. Other small sunnies are northern longears, banded, and dollar.Dollar sunfish are found along the east coast in southern states.
