Between what you listed I would say Mag but better options would be.

Tunze, Iwaki, Reeflo any of those would make you happy. More money though.

I heard Iwaki uses a LOT of electric, is this true?

When you get up in the Mag 24 and 36 range there is no better replacement pump than the ReeFlo line.

http://www.reeflopumps.com/

VERY energy efficient. The BEST customer service in the land and powered by 100% American made motors.

Yes they cost more but they will pay for themselves in the electricity they will save you.

Been using a Mag 1200 for 12-15 years 24/7.
Have replaced the impeller twice, and a volute once due to a piece of gravel that entered the pump.
They do hum a bit, but since my tanks are in the basement it's not an issue, if they were in a bedroom, I might think twice.
Have a 2400 on another bank of tanks almost 10 years.
Not knocking Rio, just relating the experience.

X2 on the Reeflos!!!!

Sit down and calculate energy efficiency over just one year.... A Reeflo will pay for itself in that one year.

IF I was to buy brand new it's tough to choose between Pondmaster hydrive, Reeflo, and Sweetwater. Dolphin's aren't bad either.

Just gety a rediculously big pump and T off the return. Feed your tank what the overflows can handle using a ball valve then run the rest back through your bio.

Or save even more electricity by just valving back the discharge of the pump.

I say reeflo as well........their customer service actually joined this forum to resolve a problem that was on here. Hands down top notch service. The pumps are very efficient and the quietest I've ever owned.

I remember that. It was Chris the owner that joined.

I thought after actual real world testing valving back the pump didn't actually save a measureable amount of power?
