Actually in this forum it does. because it shows me as a responsible pet owner and a HUMANE human. unlike some of the pathetic responses supporting this disgusting act. or those that are just too pussy to stand up and say what any responsible owner should. What he claims to have done to his fish is disgusting. Whats more disgusting is that alot of people here don't see a problem with this. Those people are what distroys this hobby. irresponsible fish owners. This is the type of person that would just as soon dump his fish in local waters because he has grown bored with them and no longer gets a kick out of them or feels like maintaining their living conditions.

So you can both save your little speeches for someone who cares to listen to namby pamby lets all hug and be friends bull****. I'm not interested in pretending like this guy is cool for having mutilated his fish.

I don't think anyones being too pussy. Lots in this thread are against it and others aren't all for it but share a "to each his own" attitude. It's doubtful you'll get someone to change their ways, even more doubtful if all they get from your paragraph of thoughts is name calling.

Is it great? no. But I think it's far worse when such a fish ends up as a feeder or some other death.

So you would rather see somone mutilate their fish for some shallow and petty enjoyment then to feed a fish as it would naturally eat in the wild?

I could go on for hours lecturing this guy about why what he did was wrong but considering his responses, He doesn't care. Doesn't care about the welfare of his pets. dosen't care about the way he treats others. simply dosen't care. he came here to post this and piss people off. So why not give him what he wants. he wants to be called names. So I give it to him. If it makes him feel better to know people around the world think of him as a lowlife scumbag. Well more power to him. I hope his quest to be a stain on the underpants of society goes well for him.

To some extent the "to each their own" is fine and dandy. But when it comes to the point of mutilation and animal cruelty. That no longer is a luxury.

What I find sad is that MFK for all the experienced members seems to be a haven for people like this. People who are more inclined to get their kicks off of fighting fish and mutilating them. IMO these people need to get burned out of the hobby. because they are ultimatly the ones that are ****ing it up for the rest of us.

Respectfully (without name calling) disagree with you. Within any hobby you will ALWAYS have a small percantage of people who will push the limits.

I may have been streching it. But it seems that every time someone sends me a link of something messed up. It is on this site. Now of course I don't mean to say that all members are like this. There are quite a few guys here that I respect as true enthusiasts. It just seems that this kind of practice is more readly accepted here. On other forums more posts like my own would be prevaliant and this kind of member would be outted from the community for this kinda stuff its the same as cutting a piranhas lips just to see their teeth. Its cruel and pointless and only for the owners sick pleasure. It serves no purpose.

I haven't thrown any kittens off of bridges.

My point is you can flame all you want but to most people it's a waste of time. Better off saying your peice that you disapprove and moving on.

Someone beating a human being and someone peircing a fish and the fish living afterwards are different.

I've seen far more f'd up stuff on "other" fish sites.

With all due respect I think it looks like crap, I don't like people making any physical alterations to animals they intend on keeping. I think it makes your fish look awful and it makes me question you as a fishkeeper and hobbyist. Again, with all due respect.

I don't like it. I just don't see any point beyond the reason people tatoo or mutilate their fish like deliberate stunting and that nasty craze of cutting tails off.
It's just something to cause aggravation and possible problems later on. It reminds of the other stupid things we attach to our pets like silly dog shoes, coats, ribbons and so on.
So now you've done it and some think it looks "cool". Just give yourself a pat on the back, you made your fish so unique and made a lovely big and got all the attention you wanted. Now you can take the metal off your fish

I guess guy, I dont care about the attention....that's what babies need...this is a discussion about ethic's and morel's.
