Puntius denisoni aka Redline Torpedo Barb

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not a very big fish so watch the size of any catfish or biger type Cichlid you put them in with, they are a thin fish too, could be eaten if caught, may be hard to catch but not impossible.

i didnt mean to make it sound as if they were a wimpy fish. I was just giving an example of how i have seen them kept.

Puntis Denisoni are some awsome fish. Personally one of my favs, just because most fish tend to get less vibrant as they big, but P. Denisoni only get better, the pink line gets thicker and more pink:headbang2:ROFL:.

Absolutely they can be kept smaller/peaceful cichlids. They can be kept with anything that cant fit them in their mouth. At the store we had them in a tank with a small peacock bass, discus, cherry barbs, and other fish (not all at the same time, the other fish sold before the barbs). Don't let their price deter you, they are great fish that are vary rewarding and hardy if acclimated right (take your time:popcorn:).

I just picked up 3 at a so-so price of $16 each. The store down the street from where I bought them had them for $30 ea or 3 for $75. One is significantly larger than the others. I put them in w/ small loaches, bichirs and tetras (all about the same size minus the smaller tetras). I was told not to keep them above 80F.

they do we'll with less aggressive cichlids or in a planted community tank there price tag gives you a hint on how aggressive of fish you can keep them with

I saw some today at my LFS about 3 inches long, one jumped in the tank next to it, so they are jumpers, keep the tank covered well. Not cheap here in AZ either, I like them but just wont quite go with the fish listed below, the oscar and a 2 foot black shark would be questionable tankmates for the red lined shark minow.

i wouldnt consider a roseline shark a monster fish. they do better in non-agressive community tanks.

a batch of roselines in a planted tank..

a batch of roselines in a predatory tank... :nilly:
