Pup sudden death syndrome? Happen to anyone?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
More times then I'd even like to discuss, but what else is new? lol I have more trouble with rays then anyone I know.

I have a female here that gets knocked up, I see movement like crazy, then the movement stops and that's it, gone. She's never aborted any pups. Just got done with it happening for the 2nd time. Almost lost her this time. Was off food for almost 3 weeks. Just got her eating again.

IF they end up carrying full term I usually end up loosing within the first year, and usually just like you said, never go off food, never curl, just quit moving and when touched it's obvious they're dead.

I've been redoing filtration for years cause everyone seems to think my water has nothing to do with it. Agree to disagree.... lol

I just finished a major renovation to my system and the results are amazing. Since than I've reduced my feedings and increased my filters at least 2x better plus made what I had before much more effective.

Sounds like it will turn around db it's got to get to the point where it will only go up. It took me years to get my stuff running optimal . I've also decreased my drip little after the upgrade with no ill effects only breeding healthy rays.

Trev it's normal to loose small fish. Rays are fish just like any others . I lost a real nice snowleopard pup like that last year. Some just are not born to survive .how many you think actually die in the wild like this ?
