I'm also a bit curiouse how breeding go's I was thinking abouty instead of getting two rays and an aro, ditch the aro and get a male and two females and set up a 55gallon barebottom for pups...

i would have left the pups in the main tank with the adults tigers and aro but my tigrinus was to much of a risk as he is 20inch+ and snaps 1st thinks later

the idear of 2 females is to spread the aggression the male gives out when he is ready to breed what i and some others have found is once the male has chosen his female he wont breed with the 2nd female

having the 2nd female is a bit pointless as when he has decided what female he want the 2nd is like a goosebrerry

in my tank the female thats not getting bred with seams to be showing some agressinonto the mother maybe shes jelous

Yep. He's in my tank waiting for a girl friend from either Richard or James, he's not fussy. I've been looking for a P14 for almost a year now, and all of a sudden P14s start springing out of the ground like there is no tomorrow. Anyway, i'm very happy with him and he is already eating, even though i bought him yesterday and he is only 7.5cm :D. Frank i'm sure you can answer this question. What do you think he will turn out like?

Looks like a healthynormal P14. She is to small to get really a good idea how she will look like. Sent me a picture in 3 months and I will tell you. Normally you can say faded white spot will be at least 1 white spot. This spott can devide in two till six spots. My male also inheareds ( ?) gallexy so their is some gallexy blood in their.
Regards
Frank

I move my motoro pups the moment i see them. They then stay in there until the next batch comes/ 3 months. After that they go into the big tank. I usually sell mine when they are three months old.
I don't want to go through this again but Motoros become beasts , and a 180 can't even hold one for life. If you are going to upgrade to 400gal a breeding trio could live in there for life. Don't think i'm only picking on you, but i trying to get it out of peoples heads that motoros only grow to a foot.
Alex

Dont worry! The 180 is only going to be used as a grow out.

They will then be moved into a 300. I almost kind of... want to just get a couple rays and not get an arowana.

But Im not sure. I also kind of want tsomething to help with algea if any appears but I dont really know of any catfish/pleco that could do well with rays.

Or I was thinking I could get two different types of rays that wouldnt normally breed at all so I wouldnt have to worry about pups.

Its so hard to choose! But ehatever I choose, its definately going to have rays. :headbang2
