How old and what size is your bd male.

Was he In last batch also ?

If one male mates a female it's possible another male gets in there after and you end up with two different fathers in same batch.

He is 14" inches and 2 years old.

I saw the bd male try and breed the bd female last round, i saw him strike out, then i dont remember if i took him out right away or if i put my reg male in 24 hrs later... I did see the reg male successfully breed her though

2 year old male is not mature in my experience with black ray males. The males will start to beat the females up long before they actually learn how to do it. I think your old boy is father
