Hey thats the one from wikipedia that says its a leucistic oscar. I dont know about leucistic though the tail looks red to me.
leucistic = albino...
its mostly white.. only think is, is that the fins drop down almost like the fish is depressed. and the fins are a target to other fish so it'd most likely have to be alone...

"How could you not want one of these? Its like koi meets oscar meets huge lips."

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

amelanistic=albino
leucistic is no pigmentation
albino is lack of black (melanin).

thats according to a couple of my college bio books

Here is my new O, it's pretty much all white with a slight orange tint but that could change over time. Sorry for the bad picture, it's all I have for now as the lights are out for the night. $8 @ Petsmart.

If you want one really bad you could get a giant tank and start breeding till you get oscars that are white and you could call them snow oscars but that takes a lot of time energy and patience and money so its not an easy thing to do but if you did do it id definitely buy one lol

i guess you learn something everyday.
your are right.
but i think its actually just an albino..

albino is totally what I was thinking.
Sorry if I sounded rude bluehairman, I wasnt trying to be.

I still love the fins in that pic.

why settle with a white one...get them all.
.
still working on the crasspin and the platinum. they're hard to find.

I've never known anyone on any forum I've been on who's ever even seen a true Albino Oscar. They're really rare. And there's no way you'd be able to know if it'd develop color later on unless it had red eyes, that'd be the sure sign.
My Tiger Veiltail isn't actually even a Tiger, she's solid black now with just an orange eyespot. Really cool color, I love how she looks. I've got 5 all of different colors. Couldn't decide so I did what the above poster said-started a color collection.
