IN YOUR HEAD
I got some white sand from Petco, looks like my black sand I got from Petco, but white. My black sand doesn't stick to my ray but the white sand does. I want them on pure white sand. Does anyone know of pure white nonstick sand?

I remember reading something a while back about sticky sands but my phone won't search right to pull them up.

have you tried white pool filter sand?
what i have is very white

The pool filter sand we have around here is brown. I have not found any white pool filter sand around me as it was my first choice. It looks more like a cleaner play sand.

It doesn't seem to bother the ray but it bothers me. I'll post a quick video of him eating with the sand stuck to him.

There is a pool store close to my house I'll see if what they have is white. I know Menard's, home depot, and lowes all were brown or didn't have any in stock.

Yeah when i was looking for sand i went to my local Menards and I noticed that there sand was more brown and it looked wierd...

Here is an OLD video of one of my tanks with WPFS from my local pool store

I think local pool store sand is better quality than sand from Menards, Home Depot, or Lows

I don't have rays but when looking for sand I wanted white also and where I live people don't have pools it is too cold so I called all the hot tub places around and they all said they could order pool filter sand but did not stock it. Until I had one store tell me just to go to home depot and ask for 20 grit silica sand. He said that is the same stuff as pool filter sand and even looked in his book to find out that pool filter sand is 20 grit.

I went to home depot and asked if they had any and they had 20 grit and 30 grit both white and it was only $8 for 100 lbs.

Here is what it looks like. I have better fish pictures but this one shows the sand good.
