purigen disaster ..... opinions please

My suggestion is to use those bags designed for the purigen and not tights !

My fish shop is about 60 miles away so I do not get there very often. I do not know if they have the mesh bags, so does anyone have suggestions as to some other way to use the purigen in a tank and to be able to regharge from time to time??

Yup, that's what you need. "The Bag" holds up to bleach. Don't fear Purigen, just use the proper bag.

When you recharge it next, open the bag and swish it in a pitcher half full of water to empty to bag out. Wash the bag with water and set it aside. Add bleach to the water in the pitcher and recharge it. When your done, quickly pour the pitcher into the bag again. You may have to add water to the pitcher to get all of the Purigen to fall into the bag. Tie off the bag again and put it in the pitcher and soak it in clean water with Prime.
