Not sure if this if an option available to you but I put my aquarium wood into a nylon mesh drawstring bag with my name and number on it then submerge in a nearby creek for 6 - 12 months. Small nice pieces of wood go into the header tank of my toilet(s) - water changes every flush.

Hi everyone. Has anyone used Purigen to get tannins out of their tank's?

Tannins have proven benefits for a lot of fresh water fish, including a natural stress reducer. (proven by scientific studies on hard water swordtails.

Hello. I received the White Suam Friday. It took 3 days for him to get here. He looks great and is having fun in the tank but he had long white poop hanging from him and he hasn't been interested in his food. Could the white poop and not eating be from stress?

I hope I am wrong but the white poop could be an indicator of some kind of internal infection.

I have offered him Northfin pellets. I have some pellets and flakes coming from Kens. He is all by himself. He is all over the tank having fun. I tried taking a picture of him but he doesn't stay still. LOL.

The saum poo looks a bit longer than other cichlids like oscars. This suggests a longer digestive tract, and hence a less carnivorous diet. So it would benefit greatly on including at least half a diet of NLS algaemax (I know you may still have some for the JD)
