thinking of buying one of these, just wondering how well do they travel and how difficult are they to maintain, looking at about a 3 hr journey home also will it host my clarke clowns any info and advice appreciated.

Is it a sebae? What kind of anemone is it actually...Im not familiar with one just called a purple tip. Maybe check out anemone sticky?

A sebae is not a good anemone to start with, at all. They stress easily, expell their zoanthea, and are finicky eaters.

Mine kicked the bucket on my last week :/

Anemones in genearal arent good things to start with to be entirely honest.

Three hour journey wouldnt kill it, but the stress wouldnt help you as a rookie either. Maybe look for one closer to you?

I would say get the tank established without any other corals or other non-moving inverts. Then once you know your params are stable and you have some experience you splurge and try an anemone. Just be ready for the monster water change that happens when one dies. :(

No kidding, I caught mine just in time. It is to my understanding that some will release toxins into the water, which in the ocean is fine, but in an aquarium...:nilly:

I was young (12 or 13). Thought I was a cool cat putting a 3' carpet in a 55g.

I was NOT a cool cat, and I should not have gone to a friends for that weekend. Needless to say I paid the price for my errors. :D
