Putitora

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like them - I was just wondering if there was something I didn't know about them. I hear you, about an alternative to Koi. I had some Indo Tarpons for a similar reason - until my gourami killed them... Otherwise I'd probably try some Tor as well.
Leptobarbus hoevenii also come to mind - had two - loved them - those would look killer with your fish. Not sure about cold hardiness.
Ahhh, I'm starting to get into brackish and tarpon is on my radar. If the Hoevenii are like Jerdoni they won't make it in the cold. Lost five one winter and the remaining five the next.
I have a mixture on mahseers and for some reason they do not attack each other. Very good comm. Very easy to raise.

Ken I'd love to see what your fish look like in a tank!!!

I've always been a fan of the toothier fish, but still enjoy keeping Masheer/Tor.

View them in a tank and almost everything else seems lazy. Hard to get any good pics of these guys cause they move so fast and are always on the move. Very aggressive eaters. I sold my group then ended up re-aquiring them cause once you get used to seeing the movement a tank can get boring without it..... :)

They are speed kings! I broke the wife's glass vase so I haven't taken an underwater video for awhile. Need to buy another one so I can put my camera in it.

I love your mahseers, ken. They are so vibrant and healthy. I hope to have a putitora someday.

You'd enjoy the tarpons. I have one of each type, they're great fish. They have lots of personality, are vigorous eaters and I think they're pretty. A lot of members don't like the chrome fish look, but I dig it.
