I agree the freezing method doesn't work too well... i watched a friend of mine put down his fish using this method and i swear after 5-10 min the fish was still alive which led me to believe thats not the best of ways to do it....

I think the Clove Oil + Vodka method would probably be the best and most humane way to put a fish out of its misery...

i personaly have been in situasions like that my self but i would never put a fish down it should be done naturaly i think hes probely not going to make it but fish have amazing recovery acts i would give him some stress coat and some malfix and live him he could make a full recovery eaver thow its unlikely but possible atleast you could say you give him a chance if you put him in an ice bath or in clover oil thats not giving him a chance and you see why ive had an argument with quite a few people on here parrots should not be mixed with south or central american cichlids they belong with medium size community fish like some barbs and gouramis eaver some bigger live bearers

when i had a really sick goldfish...i put it out of its misery by putting it in a bowl of rubbing alochol....never doing that again >.<
