Putting a tank on a bigger stand

How thick is the ply? IMO you're tanking a big gamble as even thick ply will still flex considerably compared to the glass it is trying to support, which doesn't flex at all, so essentially the ply is doing nothing.

Seems like a big risk to me and a lost opportunity. If it were me I'd be selling that tank (or putting it on another stand made to suit) and getting a wider and lower tank made to fit the stand you have.

Yeah I'd worry about that and at least try to retrofit some more support under the stand to fit the footprint of the tank. But again it might easier to just build another stand.

Got it all up and running, ended up adding supports underneath the stand. Got my ghetto wet dry running nice and quiet. Ill do a ply shell with varnish and post up some finished pics thanks again for the advice!
