Yes I did, and you were correct, he put a steal frame around the cement block and then used dow primer first and let that cure, then applied about an inch wide strip of dow corning to the sanded acrylic witht he paper removed on both sides so that he could watch the caulk expand into an even seal

why not use aluminum frames like some actual aquariums do..

Are people able to buy these frames or do you have to have them custom made in that I would like to know where I could get two of them for a future 2000 gallon basement cinder block tank that would be made out of two 4 by 8 foot viewing windows?

You could get a traditional glazing company to make aluminium frames to measure.

welding is not that hard, you should look into and try it... you will save yourself ALOT of money !!!
