Putting my 'blind fold' on. . .

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awsome pickups man! They look sweet. They look really good with that substrate too.

It looks like you and Eric have a pretty delicate maintenance plan for these guys. Are they a delicate species to keep in the aquarium?

Not that they are that delicate, they just don't handle large water changes so well. So its best that they don't get shocked or stressed as much as possible. Plus there are rare, hard to get cats. I'll do everything I can, even extra steps, just to make sure they are alright. LoL

They are SUPPOSED to be eating the 300 + ghost shrimp I put in there, can't tell if they are actually eating them or not though. . .

LOL

Im going to feed live feeders once a week until he starts eating shrimp

Keep the updates coming. I did a water change already... seem to take it like a champ. Have you tried looking at him at night? He seems fairly active... wont swim back n forth but will swim, pause for a few minutes then off to the next rest spot.

What feeders are you feeding them? Minnows? Rosies? Golds? Might have to do that as well for a bit. Rather do live foods for life than have them die.

Yes!!! They are quite active when the lights go off!!! Plus their retina expands and covers their whole eye! Its freaky to turn on the lights and just see this black eye! LoL!

I feed Minnows... they dont last that long anyways Lol
Comets tend to swim mid to top level as Minnows swim lower

As for the Retina, maybe I watch when its to dark Lol. Never noticed but will keep an eye out for it now. You have night vision or something :D

Minnows, check. Will look into that. Perhaps Bass Pro will have some. :) I'm just worried about them dieing off before they get a chance to eat them. Minnows/shiners don't normally last long, very annoying when you try to use them for live foods.

No, , look at their eyes before you turn off the lights. Then turn the lights on again in about 30 minutes and look at their eyes again!! Its crazy!

I am going to only toss like 4 minnows in. I dont want him to get full but just something in his stomatch.... so I would assume by the next day or 2 they will be gone.

... I thought you were looking at the while in the dark (I was like, "How the heck did he do that?")

Gotcha, will do tonight:D.
These are some very interesting boring fish huh? Moving fish usually get my attention but these guys have so much detail all over their body its amazing. I love the shark tail, looks cool when he opens it and closes it:headbang2

Very cool cats!
