Putting sponge from sponge filter onto a normal filter?

If you put a sponge on the filter intake on a power filter, it'll definitely slow down the current. I've tried it before.

You can, just be aware that the flow will slow down. I'm probably going to do it again once I get my Salvinis breeding.
