I'm using a PVC glue, except it never occurred to me that it might to adhere to plastic (or whatever tupperware is made out of). I bought some tupperware-like containers (big plastic things) at Kmart for my DIY sump, but the PVC's I want to glue to it won't glue the PVC to the plastic. Do I just have to hold it together longer or do I need a different kind of glue?

Can you use pvc glue to make spraybars or will hurt your fish?

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is just one of many types of plastic. Most tupperware is made of LDPE (low density polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene). Neither of these plastics will bond with PVC glue. A mechanical connection would be your best bet.

You could drill a hole in the tupperware container and get a screw together type fitting with seals in between, not sure if the hardware store has these in pvc, but I know the pool shop will, 1" and bigger, and they are nice large durable fittings, for example, the large nut you screw onto the fitting is about 4" around.

You can find them in all sizes at the hardware store. Look in the electrical section. It is gray PVC for running electrical lines. Then all you need is an o-ring.

i always use pvc primer and glue its fine

actually i used it to plumb my fx5 and my asump
