So if i just changed the valve part would it still work though? cuz it looks exactly like that to me.

YES:D
sorry im so late in response

Lmao no problem, all i need is the ball valve, some sort of tube/line to hold the water when it falls and to add my pvc glue and im done.

NO ball valve dammit!!!!! CHECK VALVE. the one for airline tubing will do.

A ball valve is is made to shut water off.
A check valve only lets something flow one way, but isnt controlable.

 this is getting good.

My only question is what happens when the water stops flowing due to power failure how does it start back up? Without help from you? For some reason everytime I see this project I just cant wrap my head on how it restarts in the event of power failure. :screwy:

water gets trapped in the "U", and when it self starts after you prime it the first time.

It works great, I use a few of them.

kind of like a p trap? are we talking the piston effect on the air that is pushing the water through so that it draws the water up again?

you wont get air in it again.

The if you lose power, it will flow untill it cant flow anymore, and the water level will stay at the top of the overflow. then when the pump starts again, it will just start flowing. It works just like a purchased HOB overflow:)

Lmao answered my question to, i dident understand how it worked. But now I do :)
