You're right. I was just told that schedule 40 should be the stuff used in aquariums. I thought it was a pipe specification for uses.

I actually like to use sch20 on my aquarium drain lines,
its a thiner wall so in a sence 1" sch 20 will flow better then 1" sch 40.
Its minimal but....

although it has a bigger id.....and flows better....its not as strong as sch 40....not as strong as sch 80......

just depends on what you want/need/afford etc
