sorry to be dense...............

what are the materials you are trying to glue together ???

for pvc/pvc use pvc solvent glue
for acrylic/acrylic use weldon acrylic solvent glue....

for each pair of materials the is usually a best glue.....

Epoxy is pretty sketchy.

At my school last year and this year a class that teaches boat building/wood working have built boats.

Last year we were using regular styrofoam to form a seat in the boat, as soon as the stage 1 and stage two epoxy were mixed together it formed resin wich melted the foam completely.

Also even when handling the epoxies to mix and make resin, it would melt rubber gloves if it got on them.

I would just buy rather then repair.

to buy a new frame is going to cost 100 bucks and that is more than what i payed of the tank, cuz it was free
like i said, i need to glue the brace and the corners of the top frame of the tank because they ahve cracks in them. i dont know what kind of plastic that is though.

pic ???

if you have a soldering iron you might be able to fuse it together....it would be nice if you had a few thin pieces of the same material to use as welding rod....pvc ???

just a thought......i have welded a fair amount of plastic with a special hot air plastic welder but a soldering iron might do the trick

would epoxy be stronger than trying to melt it together with a solder

epoxy will be ok if it bonds to your plastic.

rought it up with coarse sandpaper a try a test spot.

where the plastic cracked from flexing it will crack again...try gluing a reinforcement under it or over it as a patch if the epoxy bonds in your test.
