The Real Norcal
So a few weeks ago theres a fire in apartment complex owned by the same Landlord who owns the ones I live in. It didn't spread but only because they got it under control before it had a chance. As is just that apartment got charred inside.

After the investigation the story comes out in the paper and it turns out there was a "modified" lighter left next to an ash tray.Lighter was leaking fumes or whatever.

From what I gather Landlord had the opportunity to press charges however did not...maybe the insurance payout was good I don't know.

The thing is now I find out my landlord not only didn't press charges, but now has this guy moving in next door to me!!This makes me slightly uncomfortable to say the least......is there nothing that can be done?

What would you do/ how would you feel in this situation?

I used to live with 911 terrorists...Really I was called up and asked about their activity.
In the same apartment complex, not right in with me.

i would insure everything..

Give him a book of matches and a can of barbecue lighting fluid for Christmas.

wow you are both a mental giant and a comical genius...thats about as funny as a triple homicide and a miscarriage combined :screwy:

So anyway yeah never mind I guess I just figured someone would have something semi intelligent to say about the situation and weather or not I can do anything about the fact that theres a guy who started an apartment complex on fire moving in next to me.

So you guys would seriously be okay with this guy living next to you and your family?

BTW moving is not an immediate option but I will start looking for something ASAP before I stay here next to this guy.

Otherwise I'm gonna have to just get creative and make him not want to live here.....:naughty:

Hey bro
If you start thinking of ways to make it uncomfortable for him to live with you, he could easily get YOU kicked out. Was this guy identified as the culprit? If so, what is he doing outside of jail ? I would call the police and explain the situation to them - it's the least you can do right now, I think. I also would talk to the landlord and voice your concerns, but I would also spread the word to other people living in your complex. Groups are much more effective :)

Feel him out by getting SARCASTIC....Invite him to your front porch for a good ole marshmellow burn...Heck...Do the burn in the house, in your living room...See how far this fireman will go...."do you like your mellow burnt??"When the drewl from his mouth starts dripping to that question, stick a chichcabob up his ass....CHECK YOURSELF FOOL!!!This place aint for weirdos like you....I got fish sleeping next door to you...

:naughty:huh.....huh......Yeah...I thought so....Go join your friends in Southern California....j/k....(god bless them)

I for sure am not going to do anything that will get me kicked out, it's not worth my time I was kidding.

I'm not sure if the blame came to rest squarely on his shoulders but it was his apartment and I remember reading something about the him being off the hook because no charges were pressed.

I guess he left the apartment with the lighter there next to an ash tray and some sort of undisclosed "narcotic paraphernalia" for which he may have done some time but he is out now anyhow.

I threw away the article as it was back before I knew he was moving next to me and now all I have is word of mouth to go by.
