Well i am a firebug myself 
i have burned up a tool shed 3 cars only 1 intensionly a couple lawn mowers and to many microwaves to count haha 
oh and a quarter million dollar yacht at work but that was a accident 
you know welding gear and fiberglass resign all in the same location but it was fun none the less.
Your best bet is to challenge this guy to a game of pyromaina chicken it involves a kiddie pool set up in the living room with about 5 gals of gas in it and u take turns juggaling lit road flares while standing in the pool for 10 second intervels any real pyro can't resist this game of flame haha
