My python will hook up to my sink in the bathroom, but I have a bunch of other tanks on the other side of my house, so I need to hook up the python to another bathroom sink. The problem that I have is the adapter wont fit on the other sink. I have looked at hardware stores for other adapters, but have had no luck. Have any of you had this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?

thanks

I just moved to a new apartment and it wont fit on anything either.. I went to doctor foster and smith, website, and ordered a few adapters and such.. Order comes tomorrow, and Im hoping it will fit, so I can use my python and save my back some aches.. Just go to their site and look at their python parts. Hope this helps.

Well, I hope I ordered the right stuff.. lol

I hope it works as well. In the summer time I use the outside water to fill up the tanks, but I don't like doing that in the winter time. The water is just too cold to add to the tank. The last few water changes have been with a good ole 5 gallon bucket. I tell you what thats a good time, especially with 6 55 gallon tanks and a couple of 125 tanks to fill up.

This is kinda off topic, but I have a question. When you are using a python to do water changes and you get to the point where you are putting water back in your tank straight from the faucet, how do you add a dechlorinator to the water before it goes in the tank with the fish? Or do you just add the dechlorinator after??

You just add a little before you start filling and a little while you are filling. It all mixes up and does the trick.

I add 0. Unless I'm doing more than a 50% water change. I have never had any problems and I have 0 algae.

You don't add anything? Are you using regular tapwater? The dechlorinator isn't used to stop algae growth, it removes the chloramine that is put in tapwater to make it safe for humans. Chloramine is toxic to fish, so if you are using tapwater, you should really be adding some kind of dechlorinator when you do water changes.

Not all tap water is treated with chlorine. I have never used tap water conditioner and have done 70% + water changes. Never had a problem. Our city water has such a small amount of chlorine it is almost undetectable by water tests.
