Python AWOL

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just an update: still no sight of the python, and I've been looking every day. Im afraid now that he figured some way to get outside or he is somewhere like in the walls, dying or dead. Is it logical to fear he is dead? I tried heat traps, tape traps, mouse food traps, etc. and no luck.

Dont give up! I once had a ball python escape. months later i moved out of that apartment and much much later I raninto my old landlady. She said she saw the snake as she was getting ready to rent it out again but couldnt get ahold of me so it went to someone else.

put powder around ever warm appliance and chck everyday for track and or
pic a corner put powder aroung it place a hide, water dish and heat lamp in this corner and some food
hope this helps!!!

I can certainly help you on this one.
I've had a baby cali king on the loose, a corn snake gone about 6 times (I dunno how he does it) a baby burm a few years ago and a 4 foot fem royal.

If you have spaces in floorboards and under carpets look there; but not until you've looked in some really obvious places. The only difference is look thoroughly and keep checking back.

Ive had one in my clothes draw, behind the radiator, under my bed, wardrobe, the female royal ended up in my printer and one sat on the top of the viv. Look in the most obvious tight hidey places and keep looking. I looked behind my radiator for my corn and he wasnt there but the next day he was. After that, try under floorboards and stuff, if you have a pile of washing, look there. Down the side of your couch seats; just everywhere that you think would be to obvious. The burm that escaped was in my shoe!
So just try everywhere, but most probably you'll find him when your not looking. Thats what happens to me. Good Luck

Thanks for the post jessie, and everybody else thanks for your support. As an update: I FOUND HIM!!! :D

I was getting a water bottle from my fridge and I saw my cat nosing around my fridge. Moved it, just in case, and I saw him slithering into the motor housing! Its a good thing we found him, too much more time in the motor housing and he might have been too careless and gotten chopped up.

Anyway, He is very dusty, wrinkly, and he keeps unhinging his jaw. I gave him a bath already... any other tips for lost-snake-rejuvenation? replys appreciated :)

congrats! I hope he is hungry, otherwise you have rodents! lol

The "wrinkly" could mean dehydration. The unhinging of the jaw or yawning could mean a respiratory infection. He needs a drink and some warmth. Here is a link on respiratory infections in herps.
