python hoses and prime dosing

So I recently made the best purchase of my life and got one of these pythons. I have well water so I don't treat my water with anything. Drain, fill, done. In a couple years I plan on moving into the city, meaning city water and I will have to treat it.

So my question is this, do you guys just treat the tank after you fill it? I've always been told (as a kid) that you should treat the water before adding it to the tank. Am I gonna be using buckets to fill my tanks and the python just to drain? Is there something else I'm missing?

This. But, I use Seachem Safe, because of the number of tanks and their sizes. A little more cost effective for dosing large amounts of water.

This is exactly what I do. I did my own DIY for my "python". I used my showerhead to convert it to a garden hose fitting and fill up from there. Drain the tank from a clear tubing to my bushes outside through a window lol

I remove about 70% of my water when I change. I need three total caps of prime. When I start filling, I add the first cap. I space the next two caps out while it's filling up. I always dump the prime where the water is pouring out for better circulation.

Add the water conditioner right before you fill the tank, or at the same time. That is what I always do and I have never have had any problems.
