Hello Guys,

I got this little guy this evening from my local LFS.

They had him listed as a Ball Python. And after talking to the guy there I believe they really thought it was a ball python...

But anyway, I'm 99 percent positive I got myself a nice Carpet Python at an extremely good price but want to verify that I am correct that he is a Carpet and wanted to see if anyone can tell what local/type he might be.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Mike

Thanks Fishlock, that was my initial thought as well. I did find some pics and what I have found even though the neonates are very similar pattern they seem very dull in color compared to the one I picked up. I guess I was leaning towards the children more cause of the contrast in pattern I have seen.

Any one else? What you guys/gals think Childrens/Carpet?

Im gonna go with children's. I think the pattern is more children's, the color is more carpet. It's hard to see the eyes in the pics but it looks they are more uniform in color and yellowish. IMO it suggests a childrens, however, i haven't read that info from a credible source or anything. It's just what i've kinda noticed. nice snake though.

100% Children's Python, Antaresia childreni

And a nice one too! How much did you pay for him?

Here I was thinking I was going to be dealing with a larger snake, now I don't even have to worry about getting my bigger cages out of storage haha. :naughty: Cool, so far he's been real alert, checking out his new digs. Look forward to raising this guy. Thanks to all for you help!

Antaresia maculosa, spotted python. I've raised and bred both.
