amazing snake, might i point out.. my ex and i used to have an olive, she was absolutely beautiful and super sweet... but i couldnt believe the rabbits she could down...
 
I think if you know big snakes will wander into or live in your yard,maybe you should take some precautions with your companion animals.

sure you do. Just because there are snakes in Australia doesn't mean you have to be paranoid. It's like walking in public thinking everyone is going to rape you. Lots of snake activity around my area and I let my cats out everyday unsupervised.
 
Its sad for the owner, but lets be honest here its nature as well!

hungry snake+little dog= yummy meal

hungry person + burger king= yummy meal

(its nearly my lunch time and i'm starved)

I'm rather be paranoid than broken hearted. I keep a close watch on my pom mix because the the eagles around here. If I knew there were native snakes large enough to eat her she would not be out without someone watching.
