Yes very much so . Esp when people like myself have looked high and low but have now given up on ever finding a python lol.

Lots of money here in herps like turtle breeding farms and other reptile outside breeding places.

Most of the non natives here were bound to happen like cuban tree frogs- knight anoles-house geckos- coqui tree frogs,etc due to the location of Miami and the trade ships,fruit shipments,etc.

Even pythons which are released pets and from hurricanes hitting zoo's,etc are rare and no big deal.

I was at the Glades earlier and again not a single sighting of a python but lots of native kings and rat snakes and pouring rain..I regret going lol.

The non native impact is close to zero herp and fish.

Lol it is hysteria and makes for a great story.

For a while I thought it was bull and no pythons established here at all as never met even a Glades ranger or air boat ride person who has seen one.

Till Snake Guy posted pics but do agree its blown way out of proportion . I am waiting for Albino ball pythons to become established .

I never heard of Green anocandas spotted here was surprised to read that.
 
this new USGS article was written by the same idiot that wrote the article about the pythons invading as far north as Virginia. I have mailed him some very upset letters and he replied to them by saying that the articles were a parody, like something that belongs in the onion. yet it quoted "facts" and was supposed to be a scientific research paper. I don't get it...
