Python Problems

My python gravel vac doesn't seem to have enough siphon power to get the crap off my sand. Even if I bury the vac in the sand, it moves the sand around a lot but doesn't really siphon it out with a lot of power.

Maybe attaching the end to a more powerful hose will help? I run the thing out my window to drain.

Hehe that would only work if he had it hooked up to the sink and not stuck out the window to drain

I actually attach it to a hose which is outside my window. But even with the hose all the way on, it's not enough suction. I was thinking maybe a more powerful hose would work.

Mine is the same way. I have the faucet on full blast, hot and cold going at the same time and it still doesn't pick up my little 3 inch Jag's crap. My line is 50 foot though, so maybe that has something to do with it but still, I think my faucet just sucks. I just use the ole 6ft gravel vac on each tank, doesn't take more than 10 minutes for 5 tanks this way.

The length of hose plays a part, but I've found in the past that the fittings on the pythons tend to suck a little air when they're not tight. Make sure all the fittings are tight. I used electrical tape on all the fittings to seal them up and my pressure improved dramatically.
